Brewing class for entry level to advanced brewers focusing on a fast brew day and short fermentation time. We are brewing a full batch of orange blossom honey Belgian wit in about an hour, then it will ferment in camp for a few days, get bunged and allowed to finish. This will be a variant of the "Sun Caller Wheat" made and served at Rag 30, this year's brew is called "Solaire's Wit". It will ferment in camp and will be tapped in the Ale Garden on Friday! So if you are of legal drinking age, plan to stop back for a mug full of praisin' for the featured ale that day!

This class is only available to those 21 years of age or older and is BYOB! Brewers go to a lot of work to make sure the beverage you are consuming is as perfect as possible, learn to fully appreciate their hard work! This is a great class for those that want to expand their palate, experience and knowledge for consuming any beer from domestic lagers to extreme craft beer. I am sure the same can be applied to ciders and wines so feel free to attend even if beer/ale isn’t your thing you will learn a thing a two!

Masquerave Ball: 8PM - Midnight @ War Council Barn

For the Third year, a mysterious prince has planned a grand ball and has invited everyone! He feels that for too long has the land suffered under the yoke of classes and cliques, units and chapters. The only catch is that in order for everyone to see one another as equals, everyone must be anonymous. Therefore he has decreed that everyone attending this ball must wear some sort of mask to cover their face, and dress to impress.

8-10: Classical ballroom dance. Instructors on hand to make sure you know the steps. Come join the fun!

10-12: The Bass Drops. Modern music and dancing.

12: Music and lights turn off, people go home and go to bed.

Supplies Needed: One sturdy belt of any style that fits. This belt will be the body anchor for the backstrap loom, and should be able to be fastened snugly low around the student's hips. Students may bring any personal yarn that they wish to weave. Students that plan to attend but do not wish to create a project of their own do not need to bring anything except their interest and attention.

This class is a broad look at several styles of weaving, both ancient and modern, that could be practiced by anyone at any skill level, and which could be used or adapted for use in the construction of garb and accessories. The lecture will give an overview of the backstrap loom, the warp-weighted loom, and the pot-holder loom (yes, you can use it with yarn!). The first half of the class will be a lecture; in the second half, students will warp a small project on a backstrap loom - the perfect size for a small pouch! The Second class period later in the week gives students additional guided workshop time to continue work on the projects they started in the first class period.

Night Life

March of the Fallen: 7PM @ Pahmoten Camp

Ragnarok is the end of the world. For we fortunate mortals, it is a time to celebrate friendship, skill, service, tales around a campfire, honor, and many things hidden in our hearts. But there are those who have passed on, who will not rise again to fight with us or feast in Valhalla: our friends and family who have passed from this world.

If you wish to honor one of your own, or someone for whom you had a great admiration, or just as a sign of respect to those who have lost, join us at Pahmoten camp where we will start our procession. As we pass throughout the campground, even if you do not join the march, please pause your activities, or stand at your camp's entrance, and let us pass in silence. We heartily encourage bringing banners and other such relics into the march.

Ragnarok Garb Exhibition: 7PM @ Ampitheater

Competition to showcase the best garb in Dagorhir. Starting with a children's parade. Categories include: Non-Human, Themed Group, Men’s/Women’s Feast, Fight, Armor and Best Beard! Fabulous Prizes!

Wayward Bardic Circle: 8PM @ Pahmoten Camp

An open bardic & performing arts circle for all shapes and sizes!! Drummers, dancers, storytellers, singers, minstrels, and comedians. No competition, no limits, no pressure, and no disrespect. The following rules are subjected upon all audience members and participants:

  • Please eat our food, and let us know if the Ent Draught or water starts to get low. Bring your own mugs and eating surfaces, please.
  • Warn the audience first if your performance is inappropriate for little/young ears. Give families time to take their kids out of earshot before you continue. If you forget to, Pahmoteners reserve the right to interrupt your performance to let them leave.
  • Bring your own safety equipment if you’re performing with fire (ie soaked rags/towels) or other dangerous elements.
  • When performing, please limit yourself to at most two pieces in a row, then let at least three other performers go on before you step into the circle again.
  • Seating is on a gently sloping hillside. Please bring your own chairs or blankets if you don’t prefer bare ground.
  • Keep discussion to our feasting hall and NOT by the fireside. Show respect to listeners and performers alike.

Blood Carnival / Moonlight Madness: 7PM - 10PM @ Merchant's Row

Carnival Games of skill and chance with other entertainment. A play on 'selling your soul' for fun. Attendees will receive little prizes for playing the games. If enough games are played attendees receive a special 'I Survived' token. The 'Main Event' will include a knight's trial.

Ragnarok University

War College - Unit Tactics 101: 12:30PM @ Lower Weapons Check

Taught By: Dominus of Rome & Aiden of Sons of Tara
Supplies Needed: Blue weapon and shield

Units are the heart of Dagorhir and the most powerful force on its battlefields. This lecture will cover historical and in-game tactics as they are used in Dagorhir today. Students will walk away with an understanding of how to take or hold chokepoints, turn or counter enemy flanks, break or hold a line, and more.

War College - Advanced Sword and Shield: Small Punch Shield: 12:30PM @ Lower Weapons Check

Taught By: Sir Bel of Sons of Tara
Supplies Needed: Blue weapon and punch shield

Despite being the most common weapon-set in the game, the art of Sword and Shield presents fighters with a wealth of opportunities to explore existing fight theory as well as develop new approaches to this old weapon-set. You may have seen small punch shields showing up at your local practice, this class will help you understand why they're so versatile and fun, along with offering some best practices and tips.

War College - Intermediate Two-Sword: 12:30PM @ Lower Weapons Check

Taught By: Sir Arc of the Amyr & Jerak of Serraphym
Supplies Needed: 2 blue weapons

Often used and rarely mastered, the art of two-sword wielding is a rewarding pursuit that requires users to be equally proficient at attack and defense with both hands. This class will help students take their game to another layer by offering more in-depth descriptions of two-sword concepts, movements, and drills.

Supplies Needed: 3 lbs of honey, 1.75 triple or higher distilled vodka, and a small lidded container for the skimmings

Class - Applique Beadwork: 3PM @ Classroom

Learning a Traditional First Nations style of beadwork with which to decorate garb, bags, mitten and boots!

Class - Calling All HEMA Practitioners!: 6PM @ Lower Field

Taught By: Kyle Randall Tansek
Duration: 1 Hour
Supplies Needed: Nothing is required, however, if you have a safe federschwert, longsword, bastard sword, hand-and-a-half sword, or two handed sword made from wood, blunted/rounded-tip steel, or plastic (nylon, polypropylene, ect.) please bring it. A limited number of training swords will be provided. If you have a HEMA/fencing mask, hockey/lacrosse gloves, HEMA gauntlets, or sturdy leather gloves feel free to bring them. They're by no means necessary, but some students might feel more comfortable wearing them.

An introduction to historical research based medieval combat; where to get started, and how to continue.

Class - Beginner Belly Dance: 6PM @ Lower Field

Duration: 90 Minutes
Supplies Needed: Sunscreen and water

Beginners and more advanced dancers alike are invited! Learn basics or brush up and drill. Classes include stretching and warm up/cool down and focus on skill building, travelling moves, light layering, and improvisation. The history and culture of belly dance will be discussed. Some stretching is done on the ground; students may want to bring a towel or mat to sit on. Wear loose or flexible clothes in which you can do deep lunges. Bare midriffs are not required, but the better your abdomen can be seen, the better you can be instructed; a crop top or form fitting top is recommended. Props are not required as they will not be covered.

Back for its sixth year, the Ragnarok Hafla brings together internationally-known and Dagorhir-raised dancers and musicians for a Middle Eastern show and dance party!

End of the World Party: Immediately After the Hafla @ The Same Place

Ragnarok present the End of the World party! Fire, Drumming, Dancing, Drinking. All musicians and revelers gather for one last festival of survivors, the end of the world Ragnarok final celebration! We're going to bring this party back to the good old days, when everyone would gather up in the middle of Spring Valley and have the best party of Ragnarok.

A week of organized chaos ends in one final inferno. Be there!
